Rachel Derstine is an award winning quilt artist living in Schwenksville, PA. Her quilts are characterized by the dynamic of movement and a sense of depth through color and design. This is achieved by shading with strips of fabrics from dark to light or using cross weave silks to enhance the colors of batik cottons. Checkerboard patterns, circles, spirals and intense machine quilting are prominent elements in her creations.
