Electrical Panel Cover to the Rescue

Customers sometimes approach me about creating small wall hangings to cover their electrical panels. I have been happy to make these long vertical quilted hangings for customers and now that we are also city dwellers I have made one for our own new kitchen.   This is simply one of my Table Runner – Triangles which I have attached to the wall with 3M Command picture hanging strips. I stitched two of these little strips to the corners of one end of the table runner, stuck two strips to the wall and voila, it was done.  My table runners are 16″ wide so it covered the panel perfectly. I sometimes stitch a hanging sleeve to the back of a wall hanging and suggest the customer use a  bamboo textile hanger to hang the work.  In this case, however, the electrical panel was so near the edge of the wall that the hanger would have protruded past the edge of the wall.  Not good. I chose these colors for my gray and white kitchen with the added pop of metallic gold to give it a little pizzazz.  These fabrics were intended for holiday table runners since the metallic gold makes them feel festive but there was no reason one couldn’t use them year around. You may see the listing for this table runner here: Table Runner – Triangles Any of the variations would work for this panel cover.  Please message me when you make your purchase if you wish me to stitch the 3M strips to the back and include a set to stick to your wall.
