Description

This art quilt was inspired by images of Persian doors and windows.

The viewer looks through an intricate cut work panel to the glowing sky beyond.  The sky is changing from glowing yellow to orange to red as the sun sinks below the horizon.  The cut work panel is similar to a mosaic design and is a dusky shade of purple which contrasts well with the oranges and yellows beyond.

The surrounding borders of the work are mottled hand dyed cotton in shades of medium and dark blue, olive green, bronze and lilac.

There is a hanging sleeve and embroidered signature on the back.
