A luminous art quilt which beckons the viewer to watch glowing color through the willow branches drifting in the breeze.
The coral gradation hand dyed gradation of color flowing through taupe to the aqua of the water below provides a lovely background for this art quilt. Willow branches of metallic silver and leaves of rose gold waft in the breeze. One leave touches the water as rings flow out on the surface.
The second variation has a medium green color flowing through light yellow to a medium blue of the water below. The branches on this variation are also a metallic silver and the leaves are a metallic light green.
This art quilt was created solely with fabric paint on the surface of a single gradation fabric. All paint was heat set. Quilting was stitched with polyester thread. Quilting uses an Asian water design.
The dimensions are 38″ x 17″.
There is a hanging sleeve and embroidered signature on the back of the quilt.
I have made several variations of this quilt, each with a slightly different arrangement of branches and leaves. I have also used different background fabric colors. I use gradients from Vicki Welsh who hand dyes the fabrics. You may contact me if you wish to have a custom color made for you using one of her other gradients. You may find her work here:
