A celebration of spring with abundant wisteria hanging over a pond with koi fish swimming beneath the lily pads.
A recent visit to the Philadelphia Japanese House and Garden, as well as a visit to Pennsylvania Hospital Gardens at Pine St. and 8th in Philadelphia inspired this work.
The wisteria branch is painted on a hand dyed and painted background fabric. Lily pads and Koi fish are also painted. The lily pad blooms are digitally manipulated and printed images appliqued to the surface. Metallic threads are used to stitch the Koi fish. Polyester thread is used for the remainder of the quilting.
