This art quilt is a perfect choice for a large vertical space where the graceful lines of art nouveau would be in order.
It was inspired by images of a beautiful art nouveau vase by French artist, Edmond Lachenal. I was delighted when I happened, by chance, to find this particular vase on display at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indianapolis, IN.
This quilt is made with hand dyed silks and cottons. It is machine pieced, appliqued, couched and quilted. The quilting is stitched with a luminous polyester thread in colors which match the various fabrics.
The piece measures 70″ long and 38″ wide.
There is a hanging sleeve and an embroidered signature on the back.
